Chapter: Living and Non-Living Things (Class 1 Notes)



1. Living Things

Definition: Things that can breathe, grow, move and need food and water are called living things.

Example: Human, dog, cat, bird, tree, plant

हिंदी:
जो चीजें सांस लेती हैं, बढ़ती हैं, चलती हैं और भोजन-पानी की जरूरत होती है, उन्हें सजीव वस्तुएँ कहते हैं।

उदाहरण: मनुष्य, कुत्ता, बिल्ली, पक्षी, पेड़, पौधे


2. Non-Living Things

Definition: Things that do not breathe, grow or move on their own are called non-living things.

Example: Book, chair, pencil, table, rock

हिंदी:
जो चीजें सांस नहीं लेतीं, बढ़ती नहीं हैं और अपने आप नहीं चलतीं, उन्हें निर्जीव वस्तुएँ कहते हैं।

उदाहरण: किताब, कुर्सी, पेंसिल, टेबल, पत्थर


3. Living Things Need Food and Water

Definition: Living things need food and water to live and grow.

Example: Humans eat food, plants need water.

हिंदी:
सजीव वस्तुओं को जीने और बढ़ने के लिए भोजन और पानी चाहिए।

उदाहरण: मनुष्य खाना खाते हैं, पौधों को पानी चाहिए।


4. Living Things Feel

Definition: Living things can feel hot, cold and pain.

Example: We feel cold in winter.

हिंदी:
सजीव वस्तुएँ गर्मी, ठंड और दर्द महसूस करती हैं।

उदाहरण: हमें सर्दियों में ठंड लगती है।


5. Living Things Reproduce

Definition: Living things produce young ones like themselves.

Example: Cats give birth to kittens.

हिंदी:
सजीव वस्तुएँ अपने जैसे बच्चे पैदा करती हैं।

उदाहरण: बिल्ली बच्चे देती है।


6. Natural Things

Definition: Things given by nature are called natural things.

Example: Sun, air, water, trees

हिंदी:
जो चीजें हमें प्रकृति से मिलती हैं, उन्हें प्राकृतिक वस्तुएँ कहते हैं।

उदाहरण: सूरज, हवा, पानी, पेड़


7. Man-made Things

Definition: Things made by humans are called man-made things.

Example: Chair, fan, building, book

हिंदी:
जो चीजें मनुष्य बनाते हैं, उन्हें मानव निर्मित वस्तुएँ कहते हैं।

उदाहरण: कुर्सी, पंखा, इमारत, किताब
